This year, we had the honor of meeting our 2025 Hooper’s Hero Award recipients, and it was a moment we will never forget. Sitting with these incredible young leaders, hearing their stories, their dreams, and the challenges they’ve overcome, reminded us exactly why this scholarship exists.
The Hooper’s Hero Award was created to honor the life and legacy of Ms. Claire Hooper, whose impact continues to shape us. Meeting Bridget and Jamie brought that legacy to life in the most beautiful way. Their compassion, determination, leadership, and commitment to serving others reflect the very qualities Ms. Hooper instilled in all of her students.
As founders, it was truly special to connect with them face-to-face and see firsthand the strength of their character and the bright futures ahead of them. These students are not only scholars, they are changemakers, role models, and the kind of leaders our communities need.
We are so proud of our 2025 recipients and deeply grateful for the opportunity to support them on their journeys.
Ms. Hooper would be proud, and so are we.

Bridget, a senior at Beaumont United High School, exemplifies the heart of servant leadership. With more than 150 hours of service, Bridget has given back to her community through tutoring at Kumon, volunteering at the Beaumont United sports concessions, leading the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, supporting the YMBL Special Olympics, and serving as a dedicated member of Youth Leadership of Southeast Texas.
Her compassion shines in the projects she’s led—providing essentials and joy to women and children at Family Services of Southeast Texas and bringing comfort to residents of a local assisted living facility. Bridget also serves in major leadership roles on campus, including DECA President and NHS Secretary, inspiring her peers with her integrity, work ethic, and commitment to making a difference.
Bridget plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, continuing her journey of excellence and service.
Please join us in celebrating Bridget’s remarkable achievements and bright future!

Jamie has dedicated the last several years to meaningful service through organizations such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Beautify Beaumont, local elementary and middle school outreach programs, booster club concessions, and campus awareness initiatives. Her involvement in National Honor Society, DECA, and other student-led organizations showcases her dedication to uplifting her school and community.
Beyond her service, Jamie’s personal journey is a powerful example of resilience and self-discovery. Despite facing challenges as a student-athlete, she learned to advocate for her mental and emotional well-being, rediscover her identity, and grow into a confident and purpose-driven leader. Her story reflects exactly what Hooper’s Heroes celebrates — strength, authenticity, and the courage to carve your own path.
Academically, Jamie continues to excel. She is recognized among the Top 5%, has completed numerous college-level courses while in high school, and is pre-enrolled full-time at Lamar University for Fall 2025, where she plans to continue her pursuit of excellence. Her teachers describe her as “intelligent, capable, dedicated, and mature beyond her years,” praising her leadership and remarkable academic discipline.
Please join us in celebrating Jamie Garrett, a shining example of perseverance, leadership, and community impact. The future is brighter with leaders like her.
